Big Boy at 23 months!

One of Luke's favorite things is to act like a BIG boy - which recently has meant climbing into the kitchen table chairs and eating or playing there. It's really cute to watch him. He has been trying to say all new words. Sometimes I'm completely confused, even as his mommy, and have NO IDEA what he's saying. Other times, I can decipher his code, and recently, he has been more clear to where other people can understand him, too. It's only a matter of time, I'm sure, until he will be talking up a storm all the time. I can't believe he's less than a month away from turning TWO. Where does the time go?

Venture Baby Shower

It's a girl!! Luke is going to have a little sister. And, my sweet teachers from school already hosted a baby shower for me. Since everyone will be traveling on summer vacation, and I'm due the first day of school, they figured they better go ahead and get everyone together now before schedules got crazy! It was so much fun. We had brunch at Celebrity Cafe and Bakery in Colleyville. I was showered with baby girl clothes galore! So much fun! Thank you Venture Teachers for your generosity and kindness, and for celebrating with us as we anticipate the arrival of our Baby Girl :)

Supper Club

Just a few pics from our last supper club at Eric and Jo's house. We had a great time. The food was delicious and the company was great. Luke LOVED Gabe's big boy swing set. He had so much fun climbing and making me really nervous!!

Old Kitchen

Here's a few pics of the old kitchen and during the remodeling process. It was a little rough going without a sink for a few days and with not being able to cook. We ate out ALL the time. I really missed my kitchen and didn't realize how much I actually enjoy cooking our meals at home. (Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE going out, but not for EVERY meal!!)

New Kitchen

Well, we finally did it! We hired someone to remodel our kitchen, and we are loving it! I wanted to post some before and after pics. These are just the after pics. We have a new sink and faucet, granite countertops, new backsplash, new tile in the kitchen and family room and a new mantle. AND - not to forget - we have room for our table!!! It's so exciting, and such a blessing! Nate also finished all the baseboards in both rooms and they look great. He's such a carpenter!

Mother's Day Pics

Luke made my Mother's Day so special. After church on Sunday, he and Nate went around the yard where my mini rose plant is. They cut off two roses and then surprised me with them! Luke walked right up to me and handed it to me. Nate did such a great job "training" him on what to do! Also, Luke was REALLY smiley on Mother's Day when I was taking the pictures, but as soon as I was in the picture with him, he got really upset! Too funny!

Hair!

I did it! I chopped off 9 inches of my hair. I'm really glad, but I also miss it at times. I have to remind myself that it went to a great cause - Locks of Love, and it will be much faster when Baby arrives. Plus, hair just keeps growing. So, I can always grow it out again :)
