Eating Adventures

Luke has been keeping us busy around here. It's been a lot of fun! He has been teething for what seems like forever - it's those incisors - it's taking forever for them to come in. So, one of Luke's favorite things recently is getting to eat a popsicle. I think it feels good on his gums. In the picture it looks like one of his bites was a little cold.

One night, we were almost finished eating and Luke discovered that he could put his empty food bowl underneath his glass and pick it all up and take a drink. It was really hilarious. He was cracking up.

Lastly, I made oven-fry chicken the other evening, and Luke wanted nothing to do with his "bach bach" as he calls it. Nate was eating a sweet potato and had the maple syrup out on the table. Well, recently Luke has enjoyed "dip dip" for everything. However, he had never had maple syrup for his dip dip. There's always a first, right? Nate decided to let Luke "try" some syrup on his chicken. Needless to say, Luke gobbled it all up. Hurray for maple syrup!

Just wanted to fill you in on the latest eating adventures at our house!

The Slide

Here's a couple of pics of "the slide" in action at swim lessons!

Swim Lessons

Luke is taking swim lessons and is loving it. This last time they even had a SLIDE, which was everyone's favorite! He is taking lessons with his friends Brinley and Aiden. They took lessons together last year, too. It's amazing how much they love the water.

Big Boy!

Luke LOVES to sit in the "real" chairs at the kitchen table. You can tell he just "feels so big!" He still eats in his high chair (thankfully!!), but I'm sure some day he will graduate to the "real" chairs to eat. It's really cute and he always has the biggest smiles for us.

20 Months Old!

Luke is officially 20 months old. He is such a fun loving little toddler. We absolutely LOVE hanging out with him. Lately, he has several new tricks. First, he gets in a position on the floor that looks like he's about to do a somersault; I don't know if they do this at his school or not, but all he needs is a little push, and he would do a complete 360. He also likes to turn on the music on the radio in our bedroom. Once he gets it on, you can't stop him from dancing. His favorite foods are still cheese, yo-baby, crackers of all types, and he REALLY likes chicken. He loves to read and can say so many more words and likes to point to the pictures. His favorite new word is, "belly button". It's so cute when he says it and then points to his own belly button. Luke also says "choo-choo" with intonation for train. It's really funny! He also likes to give Libby, our cat, a kiss! GROSS!! I better get used to it, since he's a boy. This is only the beginning, I'm sure!

Luke keeps us on our toes as he is constantly exploring everything and is very curious about his world. Happy 20 Months!

Overalls

My little baby is growing up so much! Luke is wearing his overalls in this picture, which is really quite amazing, because every time he wears them, he cries. I think they are too scratchy for him; I'm really not sure. But, he doesn't seemed to be too bothered in these pics! Enjoy!

The Spoon and Other Eating Adventures

Luke has really taken control of his spoon when he eats now. He loves to feed himself with his spoon that his great,great-aunt made. (I actually ate with it when I was a baby.) This "silver" spoon is not pictured here above. I will have to get a snap-shot of the spoon. It's really quite a mess, but he is doing a great job learning! Mommy just has to clean up A LOT more now :)
