My brother and his family came to visit Texas in August. It was wonderful to see all of them and hang out. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium and LOVED seeing all the really cool animals. Luke especially loved the sharks! Then we spent some time at Mimi and PawPaw's house and the cousins got to play. We had some really yummy food and the kids really liked the ice cream cones!! Thanks for a fantastic family day! Love you all!

Myrtle Beach 2011
We had a fantastic time at Myrtle Beach this year. The kids loved the ocean and the pool. Luke became a fish over the summer and really enjoyed jumping into the pool. Ruth Ann is very brave when it comes to the water. We had to watch her like a hawk - she truly has no fear! She LOVES the water. We were able to hang out with the Varley Family and their four kids. What an adventure :) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a super vacation!

Luke's 4th Birthday
Luke turned four on June 28th! It was a wonderful birthday. He had a "tractor" birthday party, which really consisted of construction-type themes and trucks. It was fun. He had a few friends over to celebrate with him. They decorated construction hats, dug in the "sand" (dirt) for treasures, completed an obstacle course, and enjoyed yummy cupcakes and ice cream. Mimi and Pawpaw and Grandma were able to join us and help with the party, too. It was a fantastic time!

VBS - The Big Apple
The kiddos had so much fun at VBS at our church this year. The theme was The Big Apple, and obviously I'm so thrilled that they learned more and more about Jesus, but with the theme they also learned about "sight-seeing spots" in New York, such as the Statue of Liberty (which Ruth Ann is modeling). I had an amazing time teaching 3rd graders and I'm so thankful that Luke and Ruth Ann had a blast, too!
A very sweet morning...
Luke has been getting up all by himself and coming downstairs each morning. Well, one morning a few weeks ago, I woke up to our kitchen table looking like this: I had to take a picture. He said, "Mama, let's read our bibles." It was such a sweet moment for me. I had to document it. I pray each day that he and Ruth Ann come to know Jesus at an early age and serve Him all the days of their life.
